
Free content areas will include general news, politics, personal finance, sports and travel among others, as well as that from the recently launched WSJ lifestyle magazine. The site will offer expanded content a range of categories including US and world news, politics, small business, personal finance, technology, and lifestyle.
In addition, a visual and text-driven tool, Newsreel, will aid navigation by highlighting the principal stories in each major section. The site will also feature a new video player, photo slide show viewer and interactive graphics.
The upgrade follows a similar recent move by the FT to improve its FTChinese.com site with the introduction of additional video content and a date-linked archive.
