Working with the senior leadership team, Wong will help strengthen the agency's online offering, which includes leading digital initiatives and developing specialised services.

Wong has digital experience in both agency and client roles. His nine years in the industry includes stints in client servicing, strategic marketing and brand marketing at Interface Advertising, Institute for Customer Relationship Management and CIMB. More recently he headed online and ITL in Celcom Axiata Berhad's marketing and communications planning department.

According to Audrey Chong, general manager of PHD Malaysia, Wong's hiring highlights a commitment to invest in talent to "ensure that we are ahead of the curve when it comes to digital expertise".

Danny Chin, director of digital platforms at Omnicom Media Group Malaysia, added that Wong will help PHD Malaysia continue the momentum it has built with its rapidly growing digital capabilities.

“The media side of the business is a strong channel to influence the way brands utilise digital in their marketing and communications," Wong said.

Wong's appointment is effective immediately and he reports to Chong and Chin.
