Pepsi Beverage China's marketing VP Chris Tung resigns

SHANGHAI - Chris Tung, VP of marketing at Pepsi China, has resigned and joined Hudong.com as CEO. His role has now been taken up by Yichung Tay, the former marketing director for Pepsi's flavoured drink business.

Hudong.com is one of the leading players in search media, social networking, online video and interactive marketing in China, with major brands like Pepsi, Haier, L’Oreal, Mengniu as its clients.

Tung (pictured), a long serving member of the Pepsi China team, was one of the people behind innovative marketing campaigns for Pepsi in China, including the long-standing 'Pepsi voice of the next generation' band competiton TV show in 2009 and the 'Resonance of China' campaign that celebrated China’s 60th anniversary.

Tung was also instrumental in Pepsi China's non-carbonated drinks debut, including Tropicanna and Gatorade, and successfully expanded this line of business in China.

Tung has over 16 years of international marketing experience for multinational corporations, including P&G in Taiwan and L’Oreal in Canada, overseeing marketing accounts for well-known brands like Olay, Pantence and L’Oreal Paris.

Harry Hui, chief marketing officer for Pepsi Beverage China, resigned in April. he was replaced by Richard Li, ex-vice-president of marketing at Pepsi Beverage China,  who returned to PepsiCo China as chief marketing officer for both of its beverage and food division, after working at Pepsi's New york office for two years.
