Paul Grubb departs Publicis Thailand

BANGKOK - Paul Grubb has left his role as chief creative officer of Publicis Thailand after successfully restructuring the creative department.

Grubb joined Publicis last August at the invitation of Publicis Thailand CEO and Asia-Pacific director of business development Mark Ingrouille who will leave office in September.

Grubb, who resigned on Monday said, “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Publicis Thailand, but it was only ever a caretaker role, and now that’s complete and successful, it’s time for me to move on to another challenge.”

Publicis has waived his three-month notice period and Grubb has already stepped down from his role.

Following his departure, Grubb is replaced by a team of current creative directors at Publicis Thailand: Kike Gutierrez as acting ECD, Phongphat Chutrakul and Wanna Poolkueh.

"The team functions like clockwork now, but if the office is to expand, there is a need for a permanent ECD — probably someone local as the ideal ratio for business is 50 per cent local and 50 per cent multinational," observed Grubb.

“Paul has done a great job re-focusing the creative department and getting it ready for our digital future”, said Dean Bramham, board member of Publicis Thailand. “We thank him for all his terrific effort and wish him the best for all his future endeavours."

Bramham will be heading the Thai office in a regional capacity from the end of August.

At present, Publicis has several candidates lined up to replace Ingrouille in the country CEO role. Sources are unable to confirm the identity of these candidates but suggest that they have been selected internally and have a track record of over ten years within the the group.
