Mediabrands Australia appoints chief learning officer

SYDNEY – Genelle Sharples has joined Mediabrands Australia as group chief learning officer. She was formerly the director of learning and development, for GroupM Asia-Pacific.

She will be based in the new Mediabrands Sydney offices, and will start work on 21 November.

Sharples will report to executive chairman Henry Tajer and will work across all divisions of the business. She is tasked with driving professional development and learning programmes for the group’s 350 employees.

“Sharples has an enviable reputation for driving positive behavioural change through learning and development, facilitation and coaching programmes,” commented Tajer.

Sharples led GroupM's people development programmes for nine years, and most recently has been the principal of her Hong Kong-based business, Activate Expertise.
