Marie France Bodyline appoints Chaang

SHANGHAI - Ron Chaang (pictured) has been appointed China marketing director for Marie France Bodyline, based in Shanghai.

Marie France Bodyline appoints Chaang
Chaang, previously consumer marketing director of Best Buy China, will report to CEO Benjamin Lo and will be responsible for marketing planning and strategies for its slimming programmes in China.

“The concept of slimming and our brand presence is quite mature in tier one cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen,” said Chaang. “Our challenge is to expand our brand presence in tier two and three cities. There is growing competition from local and Hong Kong spa and beauty centres, which are often caught up in price war strategies.”

Marie France Bodyline is the pioneer player in China, and specialises in slimming programmes with more than 40 retail outlets in China targeting the 25- to 40-year-old women demographic.

Best Buy is currently looking for a replacement for Chaang.
