McCann Worldgroup Greater China will promote Ronald Sun, currently vice president of McCann China, and Mike Zeng, currently managing director of MRM//McCann China and vice president of McCann China, to be joint CEOs starting at year's end.

Jesse Lin, current CEO, will be leaving the network after five years in the top role to spend more time with his family, according to the company.

Sun joined McCann in 2015 to lead the General Motors account in China, and was promoted to VP in January this year.

Zeng has a longer history at the agency, having previously been head of digital at UM China (McCann Worldgroup’s media capability), before joining MRM//McCann in 2012.

“[Lin] has led the network in China from strength to strength, and we thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best,” said Charles Cadell, president of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific. “With the strong digital credentials of [Zeng], combined with the creative and strategic experience of [Sun], they will be able to drive an agency that is at once creatively and strategically led, but has digital at its core.”

The duo will lead more than 800 people in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Last week, the network named a new leader in Japan.
