The company has named Tom Andrews as investment director and Marcelle Gomez as general manager. Andrews was previously UM Melbourne’s investment director  while Gomez was UM’s group director.

Magna Global Melbourne, which began business earlier this week, is the company’s second office in Australia after the Sydney office under managing director Victor Corones. The new Magna Global Melbourne office will also report to Corones.

Henry Tajer, IPG Mediabrands executive chairman, said high growth rates and a growing portfolio of clients prompted the company to open another office in the region. “A large percentage of Magna Global’s growth is located in Melbourne, and it makes sense for us to formalise operations there,” he said.

Magna Global Melbourne will manage media intelligence and investment for Mediabrands’ three main agency brands in Melbourne: UM, Initiative and MBThree. Its major clients are L’Oreal, Coles, Bunnings, Officeworks, Target and Kmart.

“Magna Global Meloburne is a major investment in  expanding our business’s capabilities, reach and client relationships,” Cornones said.
