Impact Muang Thong Thani debuts new skybridge

Impact Muang Thong Thani, the popular concert venue situated just outside of Bangkok now has a new 250-m skybridge that links its exhibition spaces to ibis Bangkok Impact. The other 200-m bridge that will connect the Cosmo Bazaar Outlet to the venue’s parking facilities is still under construction.

The infrastructure upgrade cost the venue's investor, Bangkok Land Public Company, 115 million baht ($3.49 million). Impact will play host to the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in December.

Paul Kanjanapas, managing director of Impact Exhibition Management, said the venue has seen a 33% increase in international conventions this year compared to 2017. Concerts and entertainment events, meanwhile, have grown by a margin of 37%. Bookings for consumer trade shows, however, increased by a smaller scale at 27%.

Overall, the venue saw a revenue increase of 20%. Impact will welcome two new events in 2019—Baby and Kids Best Buy and Thai National Book Fair—that were previously held in Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. The venue said the infrastructure upgrades and new events will see visitor numbers rise to 10 million in a year.
