CFA Institute to hold first annual conference in Asia; selects PR agency

SINGAPORE - Global association of investment professionals CFA Institute has selected Ruder Finn for its 66th CFA Institute Annual Conference—its first annual conference in Asia Pacific and Singapore—without a pitch.

The appointment, which was awarded last month, will see the agency charged with all media relations and managing an onsite press office during the run-up to and throughout the four-day event from 19 to 22 May. Ruder Finn has worked with CFA Institute since 2010.

The CFA Institute Annual Conference is one of the investment industry’s largest and longest-running educational gatherings. The flagship event in Asia Pacific will include top economists, investors, investment authors and governmental leaders. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Singapore’s deputy prime minister and minister for finance will appear as guest of honor and deliver the opening address.

Notable speakers include Nobel Laureate Thomas Sargent, who will discuss policy implications for the global economy, as well as Kishore Mahbubani, National University of Singapore dean and professor, who will examine the ways that Asia and the West are heading toward a “great convergence”.
