Agencies gear up for Diageo digital

ASIA-PACIFIC - At least three agencies within the region are gearing up to participate in Diageo's digital pitch and have begun first-round presentations for the alcohol brand this week.

Agencies gear up for Diageo digital
According to agency sources, BLUE, MRM and Proximity will vie for the digital business in the region, and Diageo‚s CRM incumbent OgilvyOne is also expected to participate.

Arc Worldwide, which currently handles the brand‚s digital account with OgilvyOne, will not pitch for the business.

Agencies in the region have not been given a timeline for the pitch.

The pitch is in line with Diageo‚s global digital review that was first reported in October, which began a first-round assessment out of London and later looked to Asia-specific agencies.

The review comes one year after it appointed OgilvyOne and Arc to handle its digital operations.

Diageo currently has relationships with several agencies across Asia-Pacific, including JWT PR in Thailand; MRM for its Windsor Whisky account across the region and BBDO for Guinness in the region.
