Y&R Philippines appoints Herbert Hernandez as creative director

MANILA - Y&R Philippines has appointed Herbert Hernandez as its creative director, effective 12 March.

He was most recently the creative director at DM9 JaymeSyfu DDB, winning several awards for his work such as a silver for outdoor at the 2010 Cannes Lions Festival for Mini Cooper's 'Roller Coaster' poster, as well as a bronze for outdoor at the 2011 Cannes Lions Festival for the Department of Tourism of the Philippines.

Badong Abesamis, executive creative director at Y&R Philippines, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Herbert to Y&R. We look forward to creating with him award-winning ideas that’ll surely bolster client’s business.”

Before spending six years in DM9 JaymeSyfu, Hernandez worked as senior art director at Red Mobile, working on clients such as Splash, Travel Republic, Smart Communications and Tower Records.

He was also the art director at JWT Manila, producing materials for Red Horse Beer, Ford, Knorr, Kitkat and Milo Wafer.
