Wieden & Kennedy hires creative talent scout in Shanghai

SHANGHAI – Wieden & Kennedy has hired Samantha Culp to act as its creative talent scout in Shanghai.

Culp is a US writer, curator and consultant with close ties to the artistic community in Hong Kong and Shanghai. She has previously worked with the agency to build connections with emerging artists for the Converse account.

In the newly created position, Culp will help the agency find and work with local, regional and international creative talent. According to the agency, the creative talent pool will include anyone from web designers to poets to inventors.

Culp is currently a contributing editor to Leap magazine. She has taught literature and film studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and last year established New Territories, an experimental studio for research and production. Her appointment is effective immediately.
