Turner seals Taiwan mobile deal

TAIPEI - Turner Broadcasting System is expanding its mobile content operations in Taiwan under a deal with distributor iScreen.

Turner seals Taiwan mobile deal
Turner’s Cartoon Network will develop services for handsets around Cartoon Network characters such as Ben 10 and the Powerpuff Girls. The deal with iScreen will see the first Cartoon Network e-comic book rolled out to Taiwan Mobile subscribers.

The two companies have already co-operated to produce a Chinese-language mobile site for Taiwan. Ringo Chan, VP for wireless, interactive content development and distribution at Turner International Asia-Pacific, said the company wanted to “bolster its presence in the robust Taiwanese mobile market”.

Turner has been keen to push its content onto mobile, with deals to distribute Cartoon Network properties to handsets in 15 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific.
