Tourism Australia retains Carat

SYDNEY - Tourism Australia has retained incumbent Carat to handle its A$180 million(US$150 million) media buying and planning business, following a final round showdown with Havas-owned MPG.

“We have selected Carat to deliver media buying services in all the markets where Tourism Australia carries out consumer marketing activities,” said Tourism Australia MD Geoff Buckley. “Carat will assist us in the expert selection, planning, negotiation and buying of media channels to help us reach prospective visitors to Australia.”

The decision ends the six-month tender process, which also saw DDB replace M&C Saatchi as the creative agency-of-record.
