Thomas named I&S BBDO chairman

TOKYO - BBDO Worldwide has appointed Chris Thomas (pictured) as chairman of its agency in Japan, I&S BBDO.

Thomas named I&S BBDO chairman
Thomas, who is chairman and chief executive of BBDO/Proximity Asia, will work alongside I&S BBDO chief executive Yuki Nozoe. A director of the agency since 2007, Thomas takes over from Michael Birkin, who resigned as regional vice-chairman of Omnicom last month.

In a statement, Thomas said he was “very excited” by the development.

I&S BBDO, one of the largest non-Japanese agencies in the market, recently hired Kazutoyo Kato as managing director and executive vice-president in charge of account services, and Tsuyoshi Endo as executive director of its media group.
