Tequila Australia appoints digital head

SYDNEY - National head of digital at The Furnace Charles Clapshaw (pictured) has been appointed managing director of Tequila Digital in Australia following Tim Knight's decision to relinquish his role as managing director of all Tequila Australia divisions.

Knight, who has been with the agency for three and a half years, will depart Whybin TBWA Tequila to “pursue other opportunities within the industry”, an agency release read.

Clapshaw, meanwhile, will join Tequila in August, departing his four-year post at The Furnace.

At The Furnace, Clapshaw worked with clients including the Australian Federal Government, Fairfax and Qantas, and was recently credited with leading the winning pitch for P&G's consolidated digital business. He has also worked as head of interactive on the client side at both P&G and Air New Zealand.

Also joining Whybin TBWA Tequila Sydney in August is Hristos Varouhas, the agency’s newly appointed strategic planning director.

Hristos joins from The Campaign Palace, where he was national planning director.
