Sevenload.com launches in Singapore

SINGAPORE - German social media network, Sevenload.com, has expanded into Asia-Pacific, with Singapore first.

Sevenload.com launches in Singapore
The Web 2.0 platform will continue its expansion into Asia-Pacific with launches in India, China, Korea and Japan in the next six weeks.

Touting itself as a localised video platform, the site aims to differ from other sites through providing young artists the opportunity to showcase their talents in a web-TV format while allowing them to develop their own fan base.

In addition to user-generated content, the site will offer premium-content access to a relevant target audience on the web-TV market through branded entertainment, video advertising, viral video seeding and cross-media solutions.

"We are proud of already being present in eleven countries with localised platforms. The Singapore portal is the first platform in the Asia-Pacific area, but it will definitely not be the last extension towards Asia," said Axel Schmiegelow, CEO at Sevenload.

"The unbelievable response to our founding history in Europe convinced me, that we could provide our users and spectators individual entertainment and webTV in every country worldwide. Launching Sevenload in Singapore shows that we look beyond our borders and extend Sevenload to an international media company," said Ibrahim Evsan, founder and CTO of Sevenload.

First launched in April 2006, Sevenload started as the first photo and video platform in Europe. The site currently boasts over 800 content partners.
