SABMiller teams with Vietnam football head

HO CHI MINH CITY - SABMiller's Zorok Beer has launched a Red Brand Builders-developed campaign to promote its brand ambassador partnership with the head coach of Vietnam's national football team, Henrique Calisto.

The world’s second-largest brewer recently invested in buying out its former joint venture partner, Vinamilk, in Vietnam and is looking to carve out significant market share in the local beer market, which is seen as the fastest-growing beer market in the world. 

SABMiller director of marketing for Vietnam, Sally Brophy, who recently arrived from New York, said she was looking forward to growing Zorok’s Vietnam market share. “We haven't come to Vietnam to be second best, so watch this space," she added.

Calisto, who coached Vietnam to the Asean Football Championship AFF-Suzuki Cup victory in December last year, is widely regarded as a national hero.

Rick Reid, creative director at Red Brand Builders, described Calisto’s “winning profile” and “deep passion for Vietnam” that made him a good fit for the Zorok brand. 

Red was charged with an integrated drive, titled ‘Zorok-Calisto, always a great result’, which features a 30-second TVC of Calisto with his favourite beer , as well as print and outdoor media ads. The campaign debuts this week.
