Mediabrands Ventures appoints Jimmy Poon as China CEO

Based in Shanghai, Poon will be responsible for guiding Mediabrands Ventures' rapid expansion in the country and will oversee China divisions of The Lab and Greenhaus. He reports to Matt Freeman, CEO of Mediabrands Ventures. His responsibilities include strengthening the company's offering in high growth sectors in media and marketing technology in the market.

"Expanding Mediabrands Ventures' assets will be my primary focus and in China many of the successful new media offerings are home grown," said Poon, who has more than 15 years' experience in the advertising and marketing industry in Greater China.

Most recently, Poon was managing director of Puca Mobile, where he repurposed the China division as a mobile media consultancy. Prior to that, he spent seven years as regional managing director for Tribal DDB in working with global companies such as HSBC, AUDI, Microsoft and HP.
