McCann wins regional activation project for Sony Ericsson

SINGAPORE - McCann Erickson has won a regional below-the-line project for Sony Ericsson following a three-way pitch involving Saatchi Lab and Iris.

McCann wins regional activation project for Sony Ericsson
According to sources, the project involves the regional adaptation of Sony Ericsson's global activation initiative developed by Iris Worldwide, the brand's global activation agency.

Sony Ericsson's global above-the-line account has been aligned with Saatchi & Saatchi since the agency's appointment in 2006, while its media is handled by MEC.

In October last year, Sony Ericsson announced it would work with its communications agencies "to help bring its new brand values to life and engage with consumers in a fun and interactive way." The announcement was made following a commitment by Sony Ericsson to adopt a more open and questioning attitude through inviting greater consumer participation in the brand.

Last year, Sony Ericsson launched the space hoppers marketing campaign promoting the Yari, Aino and Satio handsets.

McCann Erickson declined to comment on the news.
