Jiangsu Five Star Appliances appoints McCann Erickson Guangming
McCann Erickson will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, branding and off and online promotions for Five Star.

This is said to be the first time Five Star has officially appointed an agency-of-record, as the creative business was previously handled in-house or outsourced on a project basis.

The creative pitch was called in July, with a shortlist of four drawn up.

Established in 1998, Five Star was acquired in 2006 by Best Buy, a US-based consumer electronics retailer. Five Star claims to be the third largest retail chain among the electronic retail industry in China.
