Industry gears up for Agency of the Year 2010 as tickets sell out

450 of the industry's most influential people will gather at the St. Regis in Singapore on 14 December to see the recipients of all the regional and sub-regional awards presented on the night.

The sub-regional categories were launched this year in an effort to recognise people and agency achievements in Southeast Asia, North Asia, Greater China, India and the Subcontinent, and Australia/ New Zealand.

The local office performance in these categories counts towards the Regional Network of the Year awards, and the new Parent Company of the Year award, introduced for the first time this year.

The shortlists and the first of the people winners were released at the end of November.

Carat/ Isobar, Mediacom, Mindshare, OMD, Zenith Optimedia and 2009 incumbent PHD are all shortlisted for Media Agency of the Year.

Creative Agency of the Year can go to either BBDO Proximity, DDB, Grey, Leo Burnett or Ogilvy & Mather.

Asia-Pacific Agency Head of the Year sees PHD's Cheuk Chiang, OMG's Barry Cupples, Leo Burnett's Jarek Zabinski, DDB's John Zeigler and BBDO Proximity's Chris Thomas compete for the coveted title.

A total of 311 entries were received this year, marking a 114 per cent increase over last year.

Celebrating industry achievements, the Agency of the Year awards recognises the strides that media, creative and one-to-one agencies and talented professionals make each year.

Currently in its 17th year, Agency of the Year rewards the companies and individuals that have not only contributed to raising industry standards but have also excelled in business performance. The awards are independently audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
