BEIJING – JWT Beijing has been tasked by Hanvon to handle the media strategy and integrated marketing business for its Touchpad tablet products following a pitch that also involved Ogilvy & Mather Beijing and McCann

The agency will be responsible for above-the-line advertising and integrated marketing including media planning and buying, digital duties, public relations promotions, below-the-line activities and terminal activation.

The Beijing-based Hanvon was founded in 1998. Since then the company has grown to become the market leader as a manufacturer of diverse intelligent pattern recognition technologies and products. Its e-book reader is said to be the best-selling product of its kind in China. The Touchpad is its latest foray into the tablet market.

"Tablet computers have huge market potential, and we believe JWT is the best partner to help us win in this promising market," said Zhang Xuejun, president of Hanvon.

Xu Jin, general manager of JWT Beijing, said the agency will integrate the resources of WPP and JWT China and adopt a "brand new and closer cooperation pattern" following the newly won Hanvon account.

"We aim to making it into high-end commercial products for China," he said.
