De Nardis named CEO of OMD Worldwide

GLOBAL - Mainardo de Nardis (pictured) has been named CEO of OMD Worldwide, filling a role vacated by Joe Uva a year and a half ago.

De Nardis named CEO of OMD Worldwide
De Nardis, who stepped down as CEO of Aegis Media in early May, will start in the first quarter of 2009. In his new position, de Nardis, 47, will be based in New York and report to Daryl Simm, chairman and CEO of Omnicom Media Group, who took on the role of OMD Worldwide CEO when Joe Uva left to become CEO of Univision Communications.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the business, de Nardis was the former CEO of the CIA media company when it merged with The Media Edge to become MEC, and established the combined companies as a single global media network. Most recently he was based in London where, as the top executive of Aegis Media, he led the company through a period of strong international growth.
