The first CP Marketing Challenge (CPMC) 2012 will assess the participants’ proficiencies in the entire spectrum of marketing, from campaign planning, to execution, and post-campaign evaluation, with the aim of “elevating brand awareness and sales of CP frozen ready meals in one year”.

The competition is open to all undergraduates aged 28 years and below.

“With the CP Marketing Challenge, we hope to provide students with an exciting chance to learn through putting academic knowledge into practice, and meeting and interacting with like-minded peers and veteran industry practitioners,” Kosit Lohawattanakul, senior vice president, overseas marketing of CP Foods, said.

“Through this competition, we also hope to identify students who possess and display great leadership qualities, offer them the opportunities to join the CP family and groom them to become the next generation of great marketers.”

A total of US$16,000 worth of prizes and internship opportunities with CP Foods in Thailand are up for grabs. The registration can be completed online.

Student teams of three to five members are required to submit a marketing communication plan of three to five pages by 30 September.  The top ten teams, which are chosen based on the quality of analysis as well as the creativity of their marketing ideas and concepts, will proceed to the semifinal round.

The semifinal provides teams with actual entrepreneurial experience and tests their ability to “survive” real competition in the buzzing market place. They will be given seed money to plan and execute a two-week online viral promotional campaign that will culminate with an onground sales promotional activity.

The five teams with the best overall performance in the semifinal will present their key achievements, learnings and experience in front of a panel of judges, comprising top senior CP Foods executives and marketing industry leaders.

The winning team will walk away with US$9,600 worth of prizes, including an expenses-paid trip to Thailand for a CP Foods plant visit, a vacation and US$5,600 travel vouchers. All participants will receive certificates of participation.
