Ben & Jerry's appoints Action for activation

SINGAPORE - Unilever ice cream brand Ben & Jerry's has appointed activation agency Action Advertising to handle ChunkFest 2009, an ice-cream festival to be organised in Singapore in September.

Action was appointed without a pitch. Ben & Jerry’s was previously handled by OgilvyAction.

In December last year Ben & Jerry’s organised the first ice cream festival Chunkfest 2008 in Singapore. The event was attended by 8,500 people.

“We are going to be doing something very different this year and push the brand forward,” said Daniel Ng, managing partner of Action.

In March this year Ben & Jerry’s targeted Singapore’s media owners and journalists for a PR stunt to promote its new Chocolate Macadamia ice-cream flavour in Singapore. The Vermont ice-cream maker sent its Woody the cow mascot to offices to promote its ‘It’s what’s inside that counts’ campaign.
