DATA POINTS: Smartphone usage across Japan

A Hakuhodo study reveals that 83.5 per cent of smartphone users have watched online videos (this figure counts only online video and excludes NTT Docomo's One-Seg service, which uses broadcast technology to reach smartphones). A majority (51.2 per cent) watch videos at least one day per week, with 25 per cent watching almost every day. Among teens, a high 43.6 per cent report that they watch videos almost every day.
