Parle Krackjack | Duality | India

One of India's largest biscuits manufacturer Parle Products is promoting the re-branding of its sweet and salty Krackjack line on Indian television.

Created by ad agency Thoughshop, two out of the three television commercials will be released in the first campaign stage. The creative concept introduces 'duality' to highlight the contrasting flavors of sweet and salty in one biscuit.

The ad features Indian television personalities Swapnil Joshi (playing Krack), who is known for his sweet and comic character, and Gaurav Gera (Jack) who is perceived as mischievous yet charming. Both actors are popular among the youth market and said to be the “perfect match” for the Krackjack brand.

The storyline of the ads portray dishonest, immoral and deceptive personas telling manipulative tales to the public; Krack and Jack will subsequently reveal the hidden agenda behind the deception. In one commercial, Krack and Jack pull a prank on a politician who takes a bite of the biscuit and unconsciously rambles on about his involvement in corruption. In another, a similar plot plays out between a quarreling mother and daughter-in-law.
