Yahoo! launches lifestyle site for women in Southeast Asia

MANILA - Yahoo! has launched an online lifestyle hub for women across Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Yahoo! launches lifestyle site for women in Southeast Asia

The new hub Yahoo She! will give ‘Real women; real answers’ by taking on topics women are reluctant to talk about, delivering information and encouraging readers to take part in discussions.

It will host ‘community-originated content’, allowing users to begin threads on topics and comment on other posts, Yahoo! said.

It will also offer content from lifestyle publications, such as Cosmopolitan and Grazia, as well as expert columns, polls and sponsored content on beauty, healthy eating and maintaining work-life balance.

Yahoo! She, which is aimed at 18- to 34-year-olds, is modeled on Yahoo! Shine – a leading site for women in the US, which has more than 38 million unique visitors each month.

Isaac Souweine, APAC head of product marketing for mobile, communications and communities at Yahoo!, said the site aims to be a ‘strong and supportive online hub’ for women.

He said, “Many of our Yahoo! users in Southeast Asia are already familiar with the women-centric content on Yahoo! Shine.

“With the launch of Yahoo! She, these users will have access to more locally relevant content including tips, tools and practical advice to make their daily lives manageable and more productive.”
