Viola’s move follows his return to Australia with McCann Worldgroup in October after 14 years as MD of the agency’s Cathay Pacific Central Team. He took on the role of chief growth officer for Australia.

In his new role at The Media Village, Viola will remain based in Melbourne. He will be responsible for developing the company’s business in Australia.

The Media Village has also hired Ann Chu, formerly of CNN, as head of media and content solutions. She will work with Viola to develop branded content across the rest of the Asia-Pacific region.

Viola could not be reached for comment on the move at press time.

The Media Village has been in operation since 2004.
