UM names new head of Asia-Pacific

ASIA-PACIFIC - Universal McCann, a division of Mediabrands, has named Henry Tajer (pictured) as regional president for Asia-Pacific.

He will be based in Sydney.

Tajer has been CEO of Universal McCann Australia, one of the agency’s strongest offices. He will retain those responsibilities.

As the regional president, Tajer will report to Jeff Cressall, president of Mediabrands Asia-Pacific, and Matt Seiler, global CEO. He will oversee Universal McCann business in the region.

“The evolution of the media industry has been tremendous in the last few years and media experts are constantly challenged to be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge marketing solutions that are innovative, cut through the chatter and demonstrate high return on investment for our clients,” said Cressall. “Henry is one of the most talented media professionals that I have known, and in this new capacity, we have the confidence that he will lead Universal McCann to continued growth in the region.”

The agency has also named Pete Mitchell as interactive strategy director for Asia-Pacific. Mitchell has 20 years experience in traditional media planning and digital. He has been with the network since 2007. He lives in Bangkok but has spent the past six months in LA and New York.
