Meister’s role will be handled by Craig Lonnee, chief executive of DDB Group Korea. Lonnee did not give specific details as to the reasons for Meister’s departure, but noted that the agency was undergoing structural changes.

“As we move towards modernising and internationalising DDB Group Korea in the digital age, the agency is naturally experiencing a period of transition,” Lonnee said. “During this time, David Meister has decided to pursue other opportunities and we wish him well.”

Lonnee added that DDB would “continue to seek out collaborative and talented people that will give our clients solutions that are loaded with local insights combined with a thorough understanding of global strategy and context.”

Meister has spent the bulk of his career in advertising in Eastern Europe, having joined TBWA in Warsaw in 1998. More recently, he was a client service director at DDB and managing director at Ogilvy. He joined Tribal DDB as general manager in Korea last summer. His next move is not known at this stage.
