Tribal DDB builds on Unilever portfolio

SHANGHAI - Tribal DDB Shanghai has won the digital accounts for Unilever’s home care brands Omo and Comfort across China.

Tribal DDB Shanghai won the accounts following a competitive pitch last month and will be in charge with developing digital branding and marketing strategies for Omo and Comfort in the Mainland.

Tribal DDB Shanghai is the first creative digital agency to work with these brands.

Unilever has been a long-standing client of DDB China Group. The company’s beverage brand Lipton has been a client since 2009, while Tribal DDB Shanghai is currently working with Zhonghua Toothpaste.

“I’m confident Tribal DDB will be able to build a voice for both brands in the digital space that will not only maintain relevancy and engage with the changing landscape of consumers, but also develop social creativity – ideas that people want to play with, participate and pass on,” commented Jit Hoong Ng, managing director of Tribal DDB Shanghai.

The home care segment is very competitive in China. Popular international brands like Ariel and Tide, and local brands like Diao Pai, are widely available in supermarkets.
