Rob James leaves marketing role at Manchester United Asia

HONG KONG - Rob James, marketing manager for Asia at Manchester United, is set to leave the company.

James said that his role in Hong Kong will not be replaced for the time being and declined to comment further.

He was previously international VP and director of events for Asia at International Management Group (IMG).

Acoording to Forbes 2011 Soccer Valuation survey, Manchester United was named the world’s most valuable football club for the seventh year in a row, while its former star David Beckham is the highest paid player.

It ranked the Manchester United club at US$1.86 billion ahead of Spain's Real Madrid (US$1.45 billion).

In Hong Kong, the Red Devil's Club opened its Manchester United Restaurant Bar in Tsim Sha Tsui in May last year. Former Manchester United star and former England captain Bryan Robson attended the opening ceremony.
