KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian car-manufacturer Perodua has teamed up with agency Spin Communications to give Perodua car owners a 15-point check, wherever they live. They just have to tweet.

The initiative is part of a Perodua CSR campaign to ensure the safety of car owners before they embark on the drive home for religious holiday, Hari Raya.

Perodua's 'Tweckbot' will announce the wherabouts of its Perodua Mechanic via the @MYPerodua feed on Twitter and Facebook. Car owners who live nearby can tweet back and the mechanic will head for their homes.

The two-week initiative starts today and will be based in the Klang Valley of Kuala Lumpur.

Advertisements promoting this twitter-based campaign are running in national papers The Star, Kosmo, Berita Harian and Harian Metro. Well-known local bloggers and 'tweeters' including Ning Baizura and Haniz Zalikha have also been engaged to help promote the campaign.
