A weekly roundup of people moves and account news worth noting.

PEOPLE MOVES

J. Walter Thompson Manila promoted Golda Roldan from general manager to managing director, effective immediately. She is also president of the country’s 4As, and the overall chairman for the 20th 4As Philippines Agency of the Year Awards taking place in 2017.

RadiumOne appointed Jodie Koning as marketing director for Asia Pacific. She was most recently senior marketing manager at Blackmores, in charge of the Australian Open brand partnership.

TBWA\Group Malaysia appointed Gigi Lee as chief creative officer, effective in January. She joins from Y&R Malaysia, where she was chief creative officer. In addition, Hui Tsin Yee was promoted to chief operating officer from general manager, and Sa’ad Hussein, previously chief creative officer, has been named chairman of TBWA\Group Malaysia.

TBWA\Group Vietnam promoted Tan Nguyen (Sunshine) from digital lead and chief marketing officer to managing director and named Tom Guerin president of TBWA\Group Vietnam, with immediate effect. In addition, the agency promoted Lien Dinh to group creative director, named Vu Nguyen head of strategic planning, promoted Thu Le to account director for PR, named Chuyen Vu senior account director and named Nhan Tuan Huy account director.

From a creative director at BBDO Shanghai, Awing Chen is now creative partner at Energy BBDO Shanghai, the “moment-marketing arm" of BBDO. Before joining BBDO, she was working on digital campaigns for Mercedes-Benz in Ogilvy Beijing. 

Hilton Worldwide’s chief marketer and Asia Pacific vice president Mark Liversidge has left the hotel after three years in the role newly-created at that time. According to a company spokesperson, there isn’t a replacement for him as the marketing team has been restructured to report into Ben George, who is the SVP and commercial director for Asia Pacific.  

J. Walter Thompson New Zealand hired Justin Barnes, most recently creative director at SapientNitro in London, as executive creative director, starting in January.

Ogilvy Public Relations Australia appointed Adam Vincenzini as MD in Melbourne. For the past three years he has run his own social and content agency, Kamber, working with brands including Coles, Treasury Wine Estates, City of Melbourne, Bank of Melbourne, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and Village Roadshow.

Michael Tam has a new job at IBM iX (Interactive Experience) in Hong Kong as the UX design & creative lead for the digital consultancy. A two-month stint at South China Morning Post as chief digital designer and a seven-month stint at Leo Burnett Hong Kong as UX design lead as well as associate creative director preceded that.

GetCraft appointed Kate Delos Reyes, former media head and country manager for Yahoo Philippines, as its new managing director in Philippines.

Publicitas appointed Yaowadee Leelakittiwong (Bo) as MD for its Thailand office. Joining from Grey Thailand, where she was business director, she takes over from Steven Fong, who is retiring after working in the Publicitas Asia Team for 25 years.

Haymans Fung is now heading brand, sponsorship and digital marketing at Sun Life Financial Hong Kong. Previously, she held different roles at AIA Hong Kong as a marketing innovation strategist, as well as regional marketing partner for eight markets and two business functions in Asia.

Chee Keong Tan joins Amber Communications China as chief creative officer, overseeing the Beijing and Shanghai creative teams. He will also assist Amber Liu, founder and CEO, in managing the local Chinese agency’s “+A” creative hot shop platform. Prior to this, Tan served as group executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia.

Joseph Tsang is promoted to chief digital officer at Grey Group Greater China after four years of overseeing Grey’s digital and social media business in two previous roles: managing director for Grey Social and digital business director for Grey Greater China, where he expanded Grey’s working scope from ATL executions into digital.

Masahiro Goto was appointed the Taiwan country manager for AdAsia Holdings, as the Japanese adtech company launched its fifth office in Taipei last month. This move is the company's first foray into the Greater China market, with Hong Kong and mainland China next on the agenda for the eight-month-old firm.

Rica Oquias was named director of operations at M2.0 Communications following the reorganisation of the agency’s public relations and digital marketing units into a servicing team. Oquias was previously the business unit director for digital in the agency. 

WINS

Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation appointed Cheil Hong Kong as its advertising agency after a competitive pitch. Cheil will work on integrated marketing communications for the brand, ranging from strategic development to creative communications and activation strategies. The contract period will be two years, effective in January.

Interpublic’s Golin won the contract for FOX Networks Group Asia (FNG) corporate and consumer communications across Asia Pacific, following a pitch. Golin will build and maintain the brand’s corporate reputation while also launching new shows to consumers over the coming year.
