MobiFone launches rock festival in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY - Vietnam's largest mobile operator, MobiFone, has launched a rock music festival in a bid to win over young music fans in the country.

The ‘Rock Storm 2009 - Reload’ festival, which will travel across 10 cities in Vietnam, is expected to attract over 250,000 music fans in attendance as well as radio listeners and TV viewers nationwide.

Dinh Viet Hung, head of marketing and tariff department of MobiFone, said: “We have decided to make a huge investment in viral marketing and digital marketing campaigns to promote the brand and the show to young rock-fans. This creates authentic brand interactions with millions of young customers nationwide.”

Hanoi-based Teamwork Communications was charged with PR and youth marketing activities through viral and digital channels such as teaser campaigns and new music releases plus information surrounding the concerts and the rock bands.
