MediaCorp revamps senior management amid news MD's departure

SINGAPORE - In the wake of Channel NewsAsia's managing director Woon Tai Ho resigning from the company and chief editor of news Debra Soon assuming his role, MediaCorp has announced more changes to its senior management ranks.

Kenneth Liang, the EVP of TV programming and production for channel 5 will assume the role of director of International Productions. Liangs role will be partially taken over by Lim Suat Jien who will be the EVP of Channel 5 and OKto.

Ong Lay Hong, currently a senior vice-president at Channel NewsAsia's China operations, will assume Suat Jien's current responsibilities overseeing MediaCorp's ethnic TV channels MD of Suria and Vasantham.
Doreen Neo, SVP of Studios Business distribution unit, will additionally helm a newly formed TV Content Distribution unit. This unit consolidates all of the company's distribution activities across all genres - drama, documentaries, info-educational, lifestyle. 

All four will report to Chang Long Jong, Deputy CEO, Television. 

In addition to this Florence Lian, currently helming communications and marketing activities, will take on the appointment of MD, Radio, from Philip Koh. This will enable Koh to focus on his other portfolios as MD, press and media research consultants, as well as undertake certain strategic business development projects. Lian and Koh will report to Shaun Seow, deputy CEO, News, Radio, Print. 

On the management changes, MediaCorp CEO Lucas Chow (pictured) said, "We need to align our organisation structure and leadership to our business strategies. We have a few priorities, like expanding our content business and our international footprint. The changes reflect some of these priorities.”
