The 2012 Vibram 100 km Solo trail race will take place on 18 February. This is the second annual running of the event. Vibram, the Italian sole manufacturer famous for its fivefingers-brand shoes, is the title sponsor. Other sponsors include Aquarius, Bonaqua, Hi-Tec, New Balance, Lafuma, and GigaSports.

Madison Communications will be responsible for event and media publicity, hosting a number of sports education workshops for the public and media, as well as promoting trail running in digital space.

“Ordinary People for an Extraordinary Race” is the theme for this year’s Hong Kong 100. Participants of the Vibram Hong Kong 100 2012 will have to complete the 100 km course in 32 hours. The route begins in Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung and ends with a descent from Hong Kong’s highest peak, Tai Mo Shan.

Madison will kickstart the event at a press conference held at the Hong Kong Football Club today. Aside from the organizers’ delegates, Daniel Lee Chi-Woo, the Doha 2006 Asian Games men's triathlon silver medalist from Hong Kong, will appear as an honorary guest to share his experiences in endurance racing and training.

"There is a growing sports community that is wearing Vibram shoes and soles," said Samuel Mak, managing director of Madison Communications. "Public relations will play a leading role in building this community for Vibram. The brand and product line gives us lots of room to do creative PR, beyond simply getting fit."

Madison Communication sports event credentials include the AXN Amazing Race reality show, AXN Challenges, and Nike’s LeBron James Hong Kong PR event.
