Lewis PR hires global talent director, invests US$5 million in Asia Pacific

GLOBAL - To drive growth, Lewis PR has appointed Sarah Robinson to the newly created role of global talent director and plans to invest US$5 million in Asia-Pacific over the next three years.

Robinson joins from f1 recruitment, where she was senior partner. Prior to that she was managing director at Consolidated PR. She brings with her more than 30 years' experience helping entrepreneurial businesses grow.

She will report directly to Chris Lewis, founder and CEO. 

Part of Robinson's global duties will be to boost the network's talent pool in Asia, which is of "strategic focus" to the company, said Andy Oliver, senior vice-president, Asia-Pacific. "Special attention will be paid to Hong Kong and Singapore, which are our drivers of growth in the region, and we are generating very positive momentum into our new financial year."

Yesterday, Lewis PR also announced an investment programme in Asia-Pacific to create new jobs and to look out for opportunities to make acquisitions in Australia, Singapore and North Asia. This decision, said the agency, was due to the region's strong performance in the financial year ended July.

Currently the PR network has at least one acquisition planned, is looking to hire a managing director in Singapore and is in the process of creating 10 new positions within account servicing, as well as two new regional posts. 

“I’m delighted to receive the backing of our global resources for a team performance which has been outstanding,” said Oliver. “It’s great to see regional profits being poured back into further investment. The growth in our hub offices in Hong Kong and Singapore has been very positive. I’m confident we can expand our operations in North Asia significantly this financial year.”

“The performance of the region’s team under the excellent leadership of Andy Oliver justifies this sort of entrepreneurial investment,” said Andres Wittermann, executive vice-president, Europe and Asia. “The region is of strategic importance to the global business and we will drive revenues and margin through organic digital PR growth as well as acquisitions."
