ASIA-PACIFIC - Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has bolstered its North Asia operations through the appointment of three senior executives in its Beijing and Tokyo offices, including Akihiro Nojiri as senior VP in Tokyo.

FH bolsters North Asia operations
Nojiri, a former senior official in Japan’s Ministry of Finance, joined the PR agency to strengthen Fleishman-Hillard operations in the Japanese market, especially in the fields of government affairs, public relations and issues management. His past experience at the Ministry of Finance includes the management of assignments in the fields of international finance, government bonds and financial supervision. He was most recently CFO of NIS Group.

The agency has additionally transferred Dan Baxter from Mumbai to Beijing, where he is also a senior vice-president. He had been at the firm since 1998, working at international offices in Toronto, Brussels and Mumbai.

Also in Beijing, Wang Lei, formerly with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, has also been appointed vice-president. He and Baxter have been charged with developing and promoting the company's public affairs and government relations offerings across China.

“Demand for public affairs and government relations counsel in Asia has intensified in the past year, as changes in the global economic, political and regulatory arenas have had a major impact on our clients,” regional president of Fleishman-Hillard Lynne Anne Davis said in a release. “That impact is especially strong in North Asia.”
