CIMB Bank offers free taxi rides to Singaporeans

SINGAPORE - CIMB Bank has surprised wary Singaporeans with a free ride in a taxi to any destination that it says will reinforce their brand mantra of 'Be surprised by money'.

As part of the second phase of CIMB's brand campaign, five 'gift' taxis wrapped up in CIMB ribbon and topped with a little model 'Money Man' took to the roads startimng last week, offering free rides for everyone, to any destination in Singapore.

Conceptualised by advertising agency Ogilvy RedCard Singapore, the free ride was a genuine surprise, only revealed at the end of the passenger's journey.
 
Coreen Kwan, head of Retail for CIMB Bank Singapore said: “In the highly competitive and relatively small domestic market in Singapore, our competitive positioning is about challenging the status quo, breaking the norms from the past, and questioning every part of our operations to find new ways of getting things done." 

She added: "At the end of it all, we want to be able to deliver an innovative retail banking experience to our clients.  As encapsulated by the tagline of our marketing campaign – we want retail banking consumers in Singapore to constantly be 'Surprised by Money!'."

The free rides will be on the roads until 20th October.
