Co-MD Angeli Beltran departs Dentsu Mobius

SINGAPORE - Angeli Beltran, co-managing director of Dentsu Mobius, has left the agency after seven years with the Dentsu Asia network.

She will pursue a career on the client side, following a 20-year stint working in agencies. “Working on the other side of the business is something that has always been my plans,” she said. “A wonderful opportunity presented itself, so I have decided to take it.”

It is believed that Beltran is heading to JobsDB.

“Leaving Dentsu Mobius is like leaving my baby! James Hawkins (co-MD of Dentsu Mobius) and I have worked hard over the past year to launch Dentsu’s independent integrated digital agency in Asia,” she added.

Beltran joined the Dentsu Asia network in 2004 as managing director at Denstu-Indio, a partnership between Dentsu (Japan) and Indio (The Philippines). She took on the role of executive regional director at Dentsu Asia in January last year, before being appointed as managing director at Dentsu Mobius in April.

Prior to joining the Dentsu network, she joined OgilvyOne in 1994 and became a partner in Indio Communications in The Philippines in 2000.

Dentsu Mobius, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dentsu Asia, started its operations in June with 16 employees, in a move to expand its digital offering across Southeast Asia. The agency was led by two managing directors: James Hawkins, who is also the executive director of performance marketing at Dentsu Asia; and Angeli Beltran.

Beltran’s departure will see Hawkins assuming the sole responsibility for the Dentsu Mobius agency, with no replacement plans.

“We are all respectful of Angeli’s decision to pursue her dream and explore working at the client side,” Hawkins said. “We are enjoying rapid growth with a digitally progressive client base. We will announcing another raft of client wins as well as key industry hires in the coming weeks, which will in turn strengthen our market position.”
