Telenor switches creative agency in Pakistan

Adcom Leo Burnett has been ousted from the Telenor Pakistan creative account, following a pitch that began in March.

Following a pitch, Telenor Pakistan has hired Ogilvy Pakistan to take over creative duties from Adcom Leo Burnett.

The scope covers Telenor Corporate, Telenor Bank (Easy Paisa), and Telenor 4G (Talkshawk). A representative of Adcom Leo Burnett said that the transition process has already begun.

Ogilvy will take over above the line activities, focusing on both communication strategies and creative output, as well as digital strategies and creative.

Asim Naqvi, the CEO of Ogilvy in Pakistan attributed the win to the agency’s creative aptitude, strategic approach, insights into the brands, and experience building successful brands in Pakistan.

Telenor Pakistan had been a client of Adcom Leo Burnett since 2004. The most notable campaign by Telenor Pakistan to date has been the launch around Djuice, the first youth-based mobile plan. Recently the company launched a campaign around Telenor EasyPaisa as part of a wider initiative toward financial inclusion and the mobile wallet.
