STAR Movies unveils logo as STAR launches Farsi channel

HONG KONG - STAR Movies channel will unveil a new logo from 1 January across its network that consists of Southeast Asia, India, Pakistan, the Middle East and Taiwan.

The movie channel remains the number one English movie channel in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and India.

Also, STAR will launch a new free-to-air Farsi language general entertainment channel in early 2009, targeting the over 100 million strong Farsi speaking community in the region.

Paul Aiello, CEO of STAR said, “with the addition of a dedicated Farsi language general entertainment channel, we will further expand our existing portfolio of channel offerings, allowing us to enhance the television viewing experience of audiences that speak the language.”

STAR will set up its Farsi channel sales and marketing office in Dubai, where it already operates 15 channels.

STAR currently broadcasts over 60 channels in over 10 languages across Asia.
