Ricky Ow promoted to Asia EVP at SPT

ASIA-PACIFIC – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has promoted Ricky Ow (pictured) to executive vice-president of networks Asia.

Ow has been with SPT since 1999 and was most recently senior vice-president and general manager of networks Asia. He was responsible for the company’s channel brands including AXN India and Animax India.

In the new role, Ow will expand his responsibilities to include SPT’s Korean joint ventures, AXN Korea and Animax Korea. He will work alongside George Chien, senior vice-president of networks Asia, and report to Andy Kaplan, SPT’s president of worldwide networks. He will continue to be based in Singapore.

Ow joined SPT as head of sales and marketing for AXN. Prior to that, he worked at SBC Enterprises (now Mediacorp TV), Asia Business News (ABN) and CNBC.
