Ogilvy Indonesia has elevated Kapil Arora to chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2026.
Arora succeeds Sieg Penaverde, who is stepping down following six years at the helm to pursue a new opportunity. Arora steps into the CEO role after joining as COO in January 2024, where he worked in close partnership with Penaverde.
Over the last two years, Arora has managed key client relationships for WPP and Ogilvy across major global and local accounts, including Nestlé, AkzoNobel, SMBC, Kimberly-Clark, and Mastercard. He has been recognised for strengthening Ogilvy's content, social, and PR & influence offerings through these Indonesia-focused client partnerships.
With over two decades of experience at Ogilvy across five offices, Arora was previously based in India and was president of Ogilvy Group Companies, North, from 2013 to 2019. Prior to this role, he was president and country head, Team Vodafone, for over nine years.
“We are deeply grateful to Sieg for his leadership and the impact he has had on our business and people,” said Kunal Jeswani, CEO of Ogilvy ASEAN. “I’m thrilled to see Kapil step into the CEO role; his energy, vision, and commitment will power the next phase of Ogilvy’s growth in Indonesia.”
Arora added: “I’m excited and honoured to lead our operation. We will harness borderless creativity and the full breadth of Ogilvy and WPP’s capability to deliver work that creates impact for our clients and communities.”
Parent company WPP has reported a 7.4% revenue decline in APAC in Q3. Earlier in June, it restructured Ogilvy and cut 5% of the global workforce (nearly 700 roles). And prior to that, creative shop Grey's reporting line shifted from AKQA to Ogilvy.
Within Ogilvy’s regional network, Kristy Muddle was named CEO for Australia and New Zealand in October.
