DDB Group Hong Kong has appointed Keith Ho (何振鴻) as chief creative officer and managing partner and promoted Irene Tsui (徐艾琳) to managing partner.

Just two months ago, Ho joined Dentsu Hong Kong as chief creative officer, leading a team of 18 creatives. Prior to Dentsu, he had spent more than 11 years at Grey Group Greater China, in roles ranging from executive creative director to chief creative officer to managing director and CEO.

Now Ho will lead DDB Hong Kong with Tsui, who had been general manager for the past three years.

The duo takes over the reins from ex-CCO and MD Carol Lam who was poached by Leo Burnett China.

They will "provide a dynamic and distinctive Hong Kong focus to the agency group", according to a press release.

Both will report to David Tang, DDB's Asia CEO, and "lead Hong Kong’s growth agenda with a specific focus to boost entrepreneurship—to offer marketing solutions relevant to the new economy".

"I started my career with an internship at DDB, so this is a homecoming for me,” said Ho.

When asked about the quick switch of employers, Ho asserted that the decision was not an easy one as Dentsu had been treating him well. "But when I firstly met David, we exchanged a lot of thoughts on how a modern agency should play a role in the current business situation, and I found we share the same vision. I was also moved by his passion for great work and the humanity in the company's culture."

Added Tsui, “I’ve worked with Keith before. His unflagging creative focus has taken on an entrepreneurial business drive in recent times. He’s the only creative I know who has an eMBA degree".

The news follows the recent appointments of ECD Jamal Hamidi and international business director Justin Bonnett at DDB Group Hong Kong.
