
Budget brand "The BnB" will be the company's third property and its first in Jakarta. Its other two properties, The Haven Seminyak and The 1010 Legian, are in Bali.
According to a company spokesperson, the hotel operator plans to open ten hotels under its budget property by 2015.
The company did not confirm its marketing plans for the budget brand but said it would use social media "aggressively". The spokesperson confirmed there will be no television campaign, however plans for a print campaign is in the offing.
PHM isn't the only player eyeing the buget hotel industry. Recently, Thailand-based Red Planet hotels said it would spend $100 million opening its budget brand Tune Hotels in the region. Even Swiss-Belhotel International said it would launch its 2-star brand Zest Hotel in the region.
Another Indonesian firm Intiland Development plans to launch budget brand Whiz in 12 cities hotels. French-owned, Tauzia is also in talks to open properties in Indonesia.
